quite honestly I have this paranoia growers in Poland. I wonder how such fear and terror associated with an increase in sugar prices ... Of course I understand that anyone who does not like the rising prices of the products he buys. But I think to myself (a bit tongue in cheek) that Poles react again with a hint of hysteria. After 5 zł per kilogram of sugar mean of 4 cents per teaspoon! It is hard - my tea with lemon rocketed by 4 cents - I can finally give up sweeten lemon. More expensive cake - actually it's cool, although it may end up with economic reasons, do not buy another without a good reason, in order to then complain that I go in the leg. ;-)
little bit more seriously - I feel the cult of sugar that exists in the nation. In the end, it is one of the basic raw materials (such as flour) and it is relatively easy to store. Thus - as the big price jump comes to thinking - to stock up or not. Those who do - driving growth and subsequent acquisition and growth. Though it involved such as bread - panic just could not tighten the money.
even more seriously - the consolidation of the sugar market in Poland, which lasts for several years, coupled with the huge EU sugar market regulation (which, of course, supposedly to protect the interests of the farmer - blah blah blah, but about the consumer does not think anyone - let me he dead!) must have led to such a situation, at least, it was highly probable. I do not I had no illusions that they will.
conclusion - thanks to EU regulations connected with the national tendency to hysteria, we have a chance for a healthier life! ;-))
years PS I doing any cake or cookie from the principle of giving sugar less than half of the provision is clear - go to them for good. Are delicious, while after eating a piece I do not want to unbutton the bar ;-)
